Architectural Renovation
What we're building.
A full architectural renovation of an Architectus-designed home in Remuera — the architects' own home. The scope covers a full cedar reclad over the original stucco system, new shingle roof, new joinery throughout, new kitchen and bathrooms, full re-insulation and re-lining of the interior, and new flooring. Every element of the existing home is being touched.
The reclad has been the largest single piece of work. The original stucco cladding has been stripped back to the framing, and a cedar weatherboard system installed on cavity, with cedar fascias and a new shingle roof tying the exterior together. Copper detailing through the cedar is being integrated as the cladding completes.
Where the project is right now.
The cladding system is up and the roof is on — the building is closed in, watertight, and weather-sealed. Inside, the kitchen is in, with the steel feature work that anchors the room now installed. Custom ceiling lighting in the kitchen is one of the details the design has been built around.
The next four months are focused on completing the remaining cladding, finishing interior linings, and bringing the home through to handover.
The team behind it.
